Pottery
and Earthenware |

| Earthenware and china seem to have always been part of Brittany's heritage. One of the best-known makers is H.B. Henriot, and the pottery made by the factory is as closely associated with Quimper as porcelain is with Limoges. It all dates back to 1690, when an earthenware maker from Provence, Jean Baptiste Bousquet, set up the first pottery factory in the area of Locmaria. Others quickly emulated him, and Quimper pottery has now become famous all over the world, and is especially popular in the United States. |
